When Eddy + Wolff opened in Robina, few expected a 24-seat gluten-free restaurant to earn national wine recognition. In 2025 this Modern Asian Fusion venue won an AWLOTY One Glass award — and quietly rewrote a few assumptions along the way.
A 100% gluten-free kitchen means rethinking everything, from soy sauce to the way each dish meets its wine. With just 34 wines, the list is a masterclass in curation over quantity: aromatic whites — Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, skin-contact — handle chilli and umami, while medium-bodied Grenache and Pinot lead the reds against gochujang-glazed wagyu and charcoal duck.
The judges noticed three things: the thoughtfulness of every pairing, fair value with most bottles between forty-five and seventy-five dollars, and storytelling — brief, engaging tasting notes that made guests want to keep exploring the page.
The lesson travels well beyond Robina. Size doesn't determine quality; a small, focused list deeply connected to the food and served by people who know it will always outperform a large, generic one. For AWLOTY it's about intention — and Eddy + Wolff has that in spades.
